And so.....i mentioned tt i'll update....
i dunno where to start....but it all began with some 'politics' in office tt made me rather upset and disappointed....and i tot it wldn't happen in the team...but it did....den the sales target part started to stress me....and den....the salary part got me thinking alot and alot.
I wasn't doing well...and i was tired of having to achieve the targets set altho mgr dun say us or pressure us so much about hitting targets...i cld feel the pressure getting to me.
so...i decided to message priscilla to check if there were any available positions in Ritz and i told her tt i desperately wanted to quit and move on and tt i was really tired of sales.
and at tt point, she checked with HR and it so happens tt 2 HR staff just resigned.From what i've heard, the turnover rate there isn't high.and I was pretty sure tt God's hand was upon this and he has opened doors for me.
I quickly went back to update my resume and i was told tt a cover letter was required.Hence,2 days before i sent my resume to pris. At tt time, they were already in the midst of interviewing cdds.But i wasn't tt worried cos i rmb dad telling us tt if tt was where God wanted us,no matter how strong our 'opponents',the 'position' is still ours.
And i was sharing with Tai wei bout how bad the market is right now and to resign now is like very timing.But as I was sharing with him, I was convinced also tt God is bigger den any BAD market.and indeed,we both believed tt too.
So...my frens ard me kept me in prayers and pris was constantly encouraging me.1 week passed and i didn't hear from Ritz..and i tot maybe God was teaching me something....lo and behold..as i was abt to give up on this position,i received a call!!
yes!an intw was arranged 1 day before my HK TRIP!!so....i rushed down after work for the long awaited intw and i was VERY VERY nervous,having screwed up a previous intw tt i went for. But i felt God's peace and I kept praying on my way there.I know tt he is with me.
After the intw was over, i was told to wait awhile and they wanted to put me thru the 2nd round of intw tt same evening when they found out tt i was leaving for a short trip!!
This 2nd round of intw isn't as easy as it seems...there are like 80qns tt the interviwer will ask and i am to answer it in my own definition using any experiences tt i've had. This round is to see how u will fit into the company's culture and environment.It was excruciating and i urgently needed the restroom.hahaha...so u can imagine my situation!! but thank God I got passed it even tho i had NO time to prepare for it.
Den...anxious as they were, a 3rd round/final intw with the HR Director was arranged on my last day in HK.so the nxt day,straight after work,it was down to Ritz for final intw.Was a rather informal one....where i met the director in one of their restaurants.She just asked some really simple questions and she shared more bout the roles & responsibilities and when i was agreeable to the stress tt is to come, she offered me the job!! i almost jumped up for joy la!!!haha
Now.....for the roles & responsibilities tt i think u guys are pretty curious abt!
1. Spearhead a committee for events like D&D, Award ceremonies (any big events)
-some ssmall events like an outing to have durians, or community work will be handled by me alone.
2. Ensure tt staff get nice food to eat everyday.so i am to plan the menu together with the caterer.but apparently, russel and pris seldom eat in the canteen and they will bring me ard for good food!hahaha
3. Comp & Ben: Data entry for the medical claims
4. Facilities Management: Ensure tt the restrooms, locker areas etc are in tip top condition and tt the technicians,cleaning lady etc dun just work hard serving the guests.
5. Edit or write articles for newsletters (not sure if this is confirmed,but she asked if i was comfortable with this)
Ya...i think tt's abt my job scope.I foresee lots of OT to come my way.But i'm totally prepared for it.I know tt my hardwork will definitely be recognised and i will be able to see the fruits of my labour.
The tentative date is 18th for orientation, mgr has more or less given the green light, but I need to find a replacement first.
Pls pray tt everything will go on smoothly for me....and....I'll be able to click with my new colleagues!!
